Description
SIMS is a web-based platform developed for Yayasan Badan Perguruan Indonesia in Bandung. The system integrates school information and learning management features for all education levels, from kindergarten to vocational school (SMK). It manages student data such as attendance, grades, personal information, report cards, and other academic-related information, as well as employee data. This project also introduced access management features to address challenges faced by the foundation in handling account access across its institutions.
Case Study
Problem
A multi-level education foundation - kindergarten through vocational school (SMK) - ran student, academic, and employee data across institutions with no unified system, and account access was scattered, making administration slow and inconsistent.
My Decisions
- → Led frontend architecture and enforced standards across the team instead of writing everything solo - reviews, not heroics
- → Standardized libraries (Material UI, React Hook Form, React Router) to raise productivity and keep the codebase consistent
- → Designed access management into the platform to solve the foundation's real pain: account access across institutions
- → Co-designed solutions for student and employee data modules with UI/UX to keep one coherent experience across school levels
Solution
One unified web platform (React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL) combining school information management and learning management for all education levels - attendance, grades, report cards, employee data - plus centralized access management.
Results
- ✓ All education levels (TK through SMK) on one platform with a single system of record for student and employee data
- ✓ Account access across institutions now governed through built-in access management
- ✓ Improved maintainability through standardized libraries and code-review discipline
Responsibilities
- • Provided technical leadership for the frontend development team, ensuring adherence to architecture and coding standards
